In Memoriam: Dr Yih Harn Siaw

It is with much sorrow that we announce the passing of Dr Yih Harn Siaw. Born in Malaysia in 1975, he held residency in Singapore where he had most of his pre-university Education.
Following National Service in Singapore, Yih Harn completed his basic medical qualifications and graduated in 2002 from the Barts and the Royal London. Yih Harn undertook his house jobs in North East London and attained a national training number in Gastroenterology in North East London. In addition to his rotational jobs he undertook a period of training at St Mark’s Hospital in London as both as a IBD fellow and a research fellow. Following completion of training he was appointed as a Consultant Gastroenterologist and IBD lead at Hillingdon Hospital in 2014. He quickly became a invaluable member of both the Gastroenterology and wider hospital team. He was well regarded by colleagues and patients alike both for his clinical ability and helpfulness, but also for the wicked sense of humour which accompanied all his interactions.
He was well known and respected in the Gastroenterology World both in London and beyond, and will be remembered as an exceptional Gastroenterologist and Physician, a highly skilled interventional endoscopist but most importantly as well as a kind, generous friend with a penchant for enjoying foods (sometimes of dubious origin) and Pokemon Go.
