We are excited to once again be hosting the BSG Trainees Taster Course on 28th-29th November 2026 at the Medical Education Centre at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals. 
This 2-day course will provide delegates with insight into the huge diversity and exciting opportunities the speciality offers, both in training and as a consultant in the future. The BSG Trainees Taster Course is a great opportunity for those at foundation or IMT level who are aspiring to become the gastroenterologists of the future.

Learning objectives

  • Gain an insight into the huge diversity and exciting opportunities the gastroenterology specialty provides, not just in terms of training, but also as a consultant in the future
  • Network, debate, and interact with sub-speciality experts who attend this course from across the country to share from their wealth of expertise
  • Get hands-on and receive a practical introduction to endoscopy
  • Hear application and interview advice from senior trainees
  • Discover other opportunities such as less than full-time and academic training, taking time out of programme
  • Learn how to manage GIM & gastro training, managing imposter syndrome, and how to balance your personal life & training
