Elected Councillor June 2026 - 2029

Dr Jeremy Shearman is a Consultant Gastroenterologist Consultant and Hepatologist at South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust, with specialist interests in luminal gastroenterology, inflammatory bowel disease and diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy. He has extensive experience in clinical service delivery and is actively involved in medical education, quality improvement and the development of gastroenterology services.

Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Shearman has contributed to the BSG through committee work and educational initiatives, supporting the Society's commitment to improving standards of patient care and professional development. He has a particular interest in the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred services and in supporting the next generation of gastroenterologists through training and mentorship.

As an elected BSG Councillor for the 2026–2029 term, Dr Shearman will contribute to the strategic direction of the Society, representing members' interests and supporting initiatives across education, clinical standards, service development and workforce engagement.
