Congratulations to Dr Mary McStay; the new BSG Deputy Chair/QI Lead

We are pleased to extend our congratulations to the BSG's new Deputy Chair/QI Lead, Dr Mary McStay!
Dr Mary McStay is a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Colchester Hospital, Essex. Over the past 21 years as a consultant in district general hospitals, she has served as clinical lead, introduced new clinical services, and provided training for both medical and non-medical practitioners.
Her main specialist interests include the management of neuroendocrine tumours (NETs) and capsule endoscopy. She is a bowel cancer screening endoscopist. Dr McStay established NET clinics at both Southend and Colchester Hospitals, as well as the Essex Patient Support Group. Through collaborative work across multiple specialties, she successfully launched a peptide receptor targeted radiotherapy service at Colchester Hospital for NET patients, designating East Suffolk and North Essex Trust as a regional centre for this patient group.
She is actively involved in clinical research and is currently local PI in several clinical trials. She has until recently served as Regional Representative for the Clinical Services Committee for the East of England Region.
