Accessing CPD funding
Amount
£1,000 over three years (approximately £333 per year).
Who is eligible?
Registered nurses, nursing associates, midwives, and allied health professionals (AHPs) working in the NHS in England.
How to access
The process for accessing the funding varies by region. Some regions have training hubs that manage the funding, while others may have different procedures. Contact your local workforce lead or training hub for specific guidance.
What it can be used for
The funding can be used for a variety of CPD activities, including short courses, conferences, and university modules, as well as other professional development activities. More information on CPD funding for registered nurses can be found here.
The BSG Nurses Committee is delighted to invite nurse members to apply for 1 of 10 bursaries to attend the BSG EndoBridge event on the 26th - 27th January 2026 at the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds. EndoBridge is proudly hosted by the BSG in partnership with the Indian Fraternity of Endoscopy. This collaboration promises to deliver a truly international programme of expertise, innovation, and clinical excellence. Applications open on 3rd November 2025 and close on 21st November 2025.
ApplyBSG Nursing Approved Training Policy

- To maintain and enhance high standards of patient care.
- To enhance capacity of members to discover, disseminate and apply new knowledge to the benefit of patients with digestive disorders.
Approved training courses for Nurses are those that the Society will badge officially as being relevant and important for its members and of good quality. The following conditions must be satisfied for a course to approved by BSG Nursing:
- The course must be relevant to the Society.
- The applicant responsible for the course content should be a BSG member of good standing and should have no pecuniary interest in the course.
- Applications for approved training sessions must have academy or inhouse governance structure approval prior to making an application for approval.
- The content of the course should be determined predominantly by the applicant.
- For repeat training, courses must consistently demonstrate at least 80% positive feedback responses
- The content of the course must not have any restrictions or qualifying requirements imposed by any commercial sponsor.
- Sponsorship support and extent must be clearly stated on any promotional material and on the ‘declaration of interest’ introductory slides.
- The BSG logo should be used in promotional materials. BSG support should be acknowledged at the training.
- No fee will be requested from the BSG for any approval sought
- Training must be UK-based.
The Approval Process
Approved training should be approved by a minimum of 3 people; the BSG Nursing Committee Chair, the BSG Nursing Committee Deputy Chair and one other representative from the BSG Nursing committee. When the BSG agrees to badge a training course as “approved” by the BSG, the Society will provide the training provide with a bespoke logo, to be used on all promotional material.
