Apply for the Web Education Online Deputy Editor role


The BSG Education Committee is looking for a BSG member to join the BSG Education Online Editorial team as a Web Education Online Deputy Editor

Ideal candidate to fulfil this position is a BSG member with interest and experience in education and teaching, especially online teaching delivery. Successful applicant will work in the Web Education team led by Dr Roisin Bevan, Deputy Chair of Education Committee and Online Web Editor, together with 2 trainee web education Online Associate Editors and a dedicated BSG member of staff. The BSG aims to expand its web education portal with clinical articles, podcasts, video content and professional development articles. 

Besides continuing to expand the already available online offer, the Online Deputy Web Editor is expected to propose fresh ideas to develop the website and keep the content dynamic as well as provide peer review for invited articles and video content.

The Online Deputy Web Editor needs to have a passion for education, and a willingness to work as a member of a team. Previous publications, peer review and involvement with gastroenterology journals is desirable.

Requirements

  • Consultant Gastroenterologist who is a member of BSG
  • Experience in education - experience in digital education would be ideal but not mandatory 
  • Teaching experience
  • Experience in research or a publication profile
  • Peer review process involvement

Commitment

  • 6-8 hours per month 
  • Respond to queries from BSG Office - Education
  • Attendance at Web Team meetings held every 4-10 weeks
  • Support Web Editor in delivery of BSG Web Education & delivery of Education Strategy
  • Contribute to expansion of web education including new avenues and CPD
  • Supervision of two trainee Online Associate Web Editors
  • Attendance at 3 BSG Education Committee meetings per year
