Congratulations to our new Deputy Chair for Training, Dr Suzie Pomfret

Dr Suzie Pomfret is a Consultant Gastroenterologist - Intestinal Failure and Nutrition in Southampton. She completed her training in London, and studied for her MBBS at Barts and The London Medical School, prior to which she studied Classics at Oxford. She has strong interest in medical education, completing a Masters in Medical Education and a PhD on Leadership, non technical skills, and training on medical ward rounds. She spent 2 years as an education fellow with Imperial, developing and organising general medical teaching for medical registrars across London. She is a trained coach and ran a peer-led coaching initiative. She was a RCP Turner Warwick Lecturer (London 2021), won the 2015 ASME Teaching Innovation and Excellence Prize – ‘Leadership on Medical Ward Rounds’, and was shortlisted for 2017 AMEE Patil Prize (Teaching Innovation Award). She is currently joint Training Lead at Southampton University Hospital.
