Congratulations to Dr Noor Jawad on her appointment as the new BSG Mentoring Lead!
Noor was appointed Consultant Gastroenterologist at Bart's Health NHS Trust in 2016, with a specialist interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease. She is the North-East Thames Inflammatory Bowel Disease Strategy Group Chair, and the Royal College of Physicians College Tutor for Medicine since 2021. She is the local Training Programme Director for Internal Medicine Trainees and has been the resident doctor support champion.
Noor continues to publish articles in gastroenterology, education and research and has co-authored Gastroenterology book chapters in medical textbooks. She has a passion for education and training and continues to collaborate with colleagues at the Institute of Cancer Research.

We are introducing member voting for the next BSG President-Elect
The BSG introducing an important change to the way we select our future President. From 2026, members will have the opportunity to vote for the President-Elect as part of a new pilot election process designed to increase transparency, strengthen governance, and enhance member engagement.
