Endorsed Event: European Capsule Endoscopy Course 2021
We are delighted to endorse the European Capsule Endoscopy Course 2021, which was originally scheduled for 23rd – 24th April 2020.
This is a 2-day JAG-approved course on capsule endoscopy-Beginners and Advanced Day, taking place 9th – 10th September 2021. All delegates will get an introduction on capsule endoscopy, indications and contraindications of CE, how to read and report CE, and using the Patency capsule. Management of CE retention and dealing with special situations including placement of CE is also covered. At least 50% of Day 1 includes hands-on cases for delegates to navigate on laptops. The advanced Day includes case-based videos on lumps and bumps, management of clinical indications, the use of Pillcam Crohn’s, and understanding the role of device-assisted Enteroscopy and small bowel radiology. Rare pathology and post-treatment changes are also covered. More than 50% of Day 2 also includes hands-on training on CE videos.
This course has been approved by the Federation of the Royal College of Physicians for 12 CPD credits.
Beginners Course – 9th September 2021
Designed for new and potential capsule users, this course provides an introduction to capsule endoscopy in clinical practice. On completion of the course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the clinical applications of capsule endoscopy.
- Use computer hardware and software. Perform capsule endoscopy.
- Indications and contraindications, patency system.
- Begin to interpret a range of pathologies.
Advanced Course – 10th September 2021
This course is designed to address the needs of established capsule endoscopy users, with an emphasis on advancing interpretation skills and providing an update on the latest clinical and technological developments. Participants will have the opportunity to review and discuss difficult cases with unusual or atypical findings and interpret a range of normal and look-a-likes. Small Bowel enteroscopy and radiology.
