UK & Ireland National Hepato-Pancreatobiliary (HPB) Nurses Audit

This audit exploring the practice and experiences of hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB) nurses in the UK and Ireland would not have been possible without the support and collaboration of several individuals, groups and organisations.

The endorsement and support of the British Society of Gastroenterology, the Pancreatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland and the National HPB Nurse Group was instrumental in promoting engagement across the HPB nursing community and facilitating the national reach of the audit.

The stakeholder group of HPB nurses provided valuable insights that helped to develop a comprehensive survey, aligned with current clinical realities, across various UK locations and services. Their contributions strengthened this works’ relevance to HPB nursing practice.

Finally, gratitude goes to all the nurses who took the time to complete the survey. Their willingness to share their experiences and perspectives provided critical insight into the evolving role of HPB nurses in the UK and laid the groundwork for future developments in this specialised field of professional nursing practice.
