The annual ECCO IBD Intensive Course is a 1-day course which takes place prior to the ECCO Congress. This is an excellent educational opportunity and a prestigious event, with those who have been in the past rating this very highly.

It was initiated in 2003 by EduCom with the general aim of providing advanced fellows and junior faculty in gastroenterology with a multidisciplinary broad base of knowledge in inflammatory bowel disease. Participation is by invitation and students are nominated by ECCO National Representatives. The UK may send three nominees. The course offers an excellent opportunity for young clinicians and researchers to meet colleagues from many European countries with different standards of medicine and establish a network for future collaboration.

The 24th annual IBD Intensive Course will take place in Stockholm on Wednesday 18th February 2026, the first day of the 21st ECCO Congress. You can access the Preliminary Programme here.

To be considered, you need to be a BSG member in good standing and in a UK Training Programme.

Nominations open on 7th July 2025 and must be received by the BSG via the form below before the deadline of midnight on 27th July 2025. You will also need to upload your CV and a 500-word statement of intent.
