Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital

Senior Clinical Endoscopy Fellow - Advanced Training Speciality Module colonoscopy
Duration
12 Months
The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital Trust are looking to appoint a Senior Clinical Endoscopy Fellow to further develop their expertise in specialist endoscopy.

Colonoscopy is performed largely in our brand new Quadram Unit which is a state of the art ten roomed endoscopy department within a scientific and clinical research trials institute rather than in our current inpatient facility at The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital Trust.

This position would allow an advanced training Fellow to develop expertise in advanced endoscopy, and specifically diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy. We would hope that the advanced training fellow will perform more than 1000 lifetime colonoscopies by the end of this twelve month period and by ready to take the bcsp accreditation test by the end of this time. We would be looking to provide a minimum of 4 diagnostic colonoscopy lists per week, 1-2 complex polypectomy lists per week, attendance at the CRC MDT and running a preassessment/planning clinic for complex polyp patients. We run 1-2 JAG endoscopy training courses each month and the advanced endoscopy fellow would be expected to take part in teaching on these. In addition, we offer blocks of immersive endoscopy training to our regional trainees and the endoscopy fellow would be welcome to join us with delivering training.

This position may also include sessions of service which will be performing GI inpatient emergency endoscopy and attending specialist MDTs and providing limited clinic provision.
