The BSG Trainees Taster Course is a great opportunity for those at foundation or IMT level who are aspiring to become the gastroenterologists of the future.
Taking place from 22nd - 23rd November 2025 at the Medical Education Centre at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, this 2-day course will provide delegates with an insight into the huge diversity and exciting opportunities the speciality provides, in terms of training but also as a consultant in the future.
There will also be a social evening, which will include a dinner on the evening of 22nd November. The evening will provide you with an opportunity to network with your fellow trainees in a more relaxed setting.
Learning objectives
- Gain an insight into the huge diversity and exciting opportunities the gastroenterology specialty provides, not just in terms of training, but also as a consultant in the future
- Network, debate, and interact with sub-speciality experts who attend this course from across the country to share from their wealth of expertise
- Get hands-on and receive a practical introduction to endoscopy
- Hear application and interview advice from senior trainees
- Discover other opportunities such as less than full-time and academic training, taking time out of programme
- Learn how to manage GIM & gastro training, managing imposter syndrome, and how to balance your personal life & training

The BSG Trainees Committee is delighted to invite trainee, IMT, foundation, and undergraduate members to apply for 1 of 10 bursaries to attend the Trainees Taster Course.
