Join us for our next webinar brought to you by the BSG SWiG Committee on Wednesday 21st May 2025 from 6 pm - 7 pm on making alternative career pathways work.

This webinar is designed for gastroenterologists and healthcare professionals interested in exploring and sustaining alternative or non-linear career pathways within or alongside their clinical careers. Through the experiences of two inspiring speakers, we will explore how clinicians can successfully navigate diverse professional journeys while maintaining their core identity as medical professionals.

Dr Mahmood-Ahmed is a gastroenterology trainee and winner of MasterChef. In this presentation, she will discuss her decision to pursue parallel careers in medicine and the culinary arts. She will offer insight into the practical considerations involved in managing dual careers and share strategies for achieving balance and fulfilment in both.

Dr Eleanor Morris – “Welcome Back, It’s Great to See You! – Supporting Doctors Returning to Work”
A specialty doctor in anaesthetics, Dr Morris will reflect on the challenges and opportunities associated with time away from clinical practice. Her talk will focus on the transition back to work and explore how institutions and colleagues can better support returning doctors.
