The Sheffield fellowship programme offers an immersive experience designed to cultivate clinical and research excellence whilst promoting leadership in the field of gastroenterology.The post is from 1-3 years providing the opportunity to complete an MD/PhD under the mentorship of Prof David S Sanders (Winner of the BSG Hopkins Prize for Endoscopy 2019, H-index 92 and chair of Coeliac UK Health Advisory Council). Under his mentorship all previous fellows have published and presented their research nationally or internationally. Two of his former fellows are now also Professors within the department! During the fellowship, trainees also have the opportunity to continue their endoscopy and clinical training.

Applicants do not need any previous research experience, just an interest in pursuing research, a commitment to providing patient-centred care and an aspiration to become a future expert in the field of coeliac disease.
