A post CCT level Trust Doctor post is available at both QE Hospital, Gateshead, and County Durham and Darlington Trust (5 PA each). The post would be suitable for a GI Specialist Registrar who has competed registrar speciality training and has a specialist interest in therapeutic endoscopy.

QE Gateshead and CDDFT share a complex polyp MDT and Achalasia MDT. Prof Dhar will offer training opportunities in upper GI interventional endoscopy (Barretts assessments and therapy, dilations/stents, and POEMs) and Dr Barbour will offer training opportunities in complex GI polyps with EMR and ESD.

The trainee will get 1 training and 2 service lists for endoscopy at Darlington Memorial / Bishop Auckland Hospitals, and the same at QE Gateshead. 3 sessions on research (+1 admin) will allow the candidate to work on quality assurance of regional therapeutic endoscopy, facilitate research studies from CLRN, and also work on our own projects such as Artificial Intelligence in Endoscopy and EndoFLIP.
