University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist for one replacement post as part of departmental growth, expansion, and development of specialised services.
This post presents an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and growing department practicing from a state of the art University hospital. Extensive expertise in gastroenterology is essential and the post-holder will be expected to share their expertise in supporting a forward thinking service. Successful appointees will join the existing 11 substantive consultants in the delivery of high quality provision of inpatient and outpatient Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Endoscopy, and Clinical Nutrition services to this large Trust, incorporating The University Hospital Coventry, and St Cross Hospital (Rugby).
The post-holder will participate in the gastroenterology consultant of the week on call (including out of hours GI bleed on call) which will be 1 week in 12, and support delivery of weekend endoscopy lists. There is no general medical on call commitment. An interest in undergraduate & post-graduate teaching is essential. Strong links with the Warwick Medical School (WMS) provides an environment conducive for active research which will be expected of the post-holder.
Applicants should hold full GMC registration and also hold a CCST in Gastroenterology or be eligible for entry on the Specialist Register within six months of the AAC date.
