Andrew Goddard, Chair of Gastroduodenal Committee has been elected as the next President of the RCP. He will take over from current president Professor Jane Dacre on 26 September 2018.

As a BSG Committee Chair Andrew Goddard said:

"I am absolutely delighted and honoured to be elected as the next RCP president. It is great that a DGH gastroenterologist can have the opportunity to make a difference at a national and international level. I’m indebted to my colleagues in Derby for supporting me over the years and I hope I can represent the views of ‘shop floor’ physicians to politicians and NHS leaders."

Martin Lombard, President of BSG said:
“The BSG was delighted to learn that our friend and colleague Dr Bod Goddard, consultant Gastroenterologist at Derby, has been elected as the next President of the Royal College of Physicians.  We wish to send our warmest congratulations to Bod who has been registrar at the college for the last couple of years and will make a great President.  We look forward to a close working relationship between the RCP and BSG who have shared interests in the highest standards and quality of medical practice and service.”
