Workforce survey to inform planning for the Bowel Cancer Screening Programme and NHS-E Endoscopy Capacity 2020-2030

This survey is aimed at Consultant Gastroenterologists, Consultant Colorectal surgeons, Senior GI/Colorectal Surgical trainees and Nurse/clinical endoscopists.

We would be very grateful if you could complete this short survey that we hope will inform workforce planning to support the Bowel Cancer Screening Programme and provision of future endoscopy capacity. The survey is being sent to all Consultant members (and senior trainees) of the British Society of Gastroenterology and the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland, all BCSP colonoscopists and nurse/clinical endoscopists.  Please only complete the survey once and please forward to any colleagues, who perform colonoscopy / endoscopy in your unit but who might not be members of the BSG / ACPGBI –also to nurse/clinical endoscopists or other trainees who might not otherwise receive this survey invitation.

Complete the survey

This is not intended to be a comprehensive survey of the endoscopy workforce, but we wish to explore current and potential future practice of bowel screening endoscopists. We recognise the many demands on your time and the regular requests to participate in surveys, but we do believe this brief survey will inform our thinking about future endoscopic capacity for bowel screening in the UK.

With kind regards (and our thanks),

Ian Penman, VP Endoscopy, BSG

Nicola Fearnhead, President ACPGBI

Robert Logan, Endoscopy Advisor, NHS England

Mark Coleman, Chair, Joint Advisory Group
