BSG Past President Cathryn Edwards receives OBE

The BSG is delighted to congratulate immediate past President Dr Cathryn Edwards, who is honoured as an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to Medicine.

Cathryn is currently Registrar of the Royal College of Physicians – the first woman to hold this position in the college’s 400-year history. She is also a consultant physician and gastroenterologist working in South Devon and holds a non-clinical health sector role as trustee at Rowcroft Hospice Torquay, where she held the position of chair from 2017–19.

Cathryn was the first female Secretary of the British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG) and its second female president.
