An update on the BSG 2021 Annual Meeting

In January 2021 we announced that the Scottish Exhibition & Conference Centre informed us that the Scottish Government had extended their use of the facilities to act as a Nightingale hospital and vaccination centre up to July 2021. This meant that our conference could not go ahead as planned.

The Senior Officers of the BSG along with our CEO and conference partners, have been regularly reviewing the guidance and situation so that we can ensure we deliver a high-quality, but primarily, a safe meeting for all attendees.

The BSG Senior team have considered all options carefully and have decided that the risks of proceeding with a face-to-face meeting that brings together thousands in 2021 remains too high. Therefore, we believe the best course of action is to bring our Annual Meeting online on 8th – 12th November 2021. The BSG Annual Meeting Online will be a five full-day programme featuring a scientific poster programme, multiple symposiums, and digital networking events.

The abstract submission deadline has been extended to 1st June 2021 and all abstract submissions that have been submitted thus far will be considered for review for the BSG Annual Meeting Online. This will be the final extension for abstract submissions.

In the lead up to the online meeting, the BSG will continue to host webinars and digital meetings to ensure we are providing our members with regular content and CPD accredited education.

Further information about the BSG Annual Meeting Online will be circulated soon, including information about industry packages available.

We appreciate your understanding and continued support at this time and look forward to welcoming you to the BSG Annual Meeting Online on 8th – 12th November.
