This one day event is FREE to attend for both BASL & BSG Trainee Members (a deposit of £50 will be taken at the time of booking which will be refunded upon attendance).

  • Please note, this is aimed at ALL JUNIOR GASTRO SPRS, not just those actually interested in hepatology. Attendance is strongly encouraged as will give a base of knowledge of common clinical scenarios expected for all gastro SpRs to manage as well as SCE revision.
  • The meeting is aimed at Junior Gastroenterology trainees (ST3-5) to ensure the fundamentals of Hepatology are taught well and for those considering pursuing a career in Hepatology who want advice. 
  • The times for the day are from 09:00 - 09:20 for Registration with the meeting closing at 17:00.
 

Topics covered in the programme will be:
 
• Why is Hepatology important? • Principles of Hepatology • Management of the decompensated patient • Common Liver conditions and their management • The future of Hepatology • Career advice - question and answer session.

If you have some distance to travel there will be a number of bedrooms available on the University of Birmingham Campus on the evening of Friday 8th February 2019. These will be allocated based on distance to travel and on a first come first served basis. *Please indicate when booking if you are interested in overnight accommodation.
