Dr John Thomson
John Thomson is a Consultant Gastroenterologist, Clinical lead for the acute Electronic Patient Record in NHS Grampian, Associate Director of the Aberdeen Centre for Health Data Science and the Digital Health Lead for Scottish Government’s Modernising Patient Pathways Program.
He has varied expertise and interests that coalesce around using health data well, making digital health great for the user, and the sustainability of healthcare systems.
Dr Kevin Barrett
Kevin has been a General Practitioner in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire since 2002 and a Primary Care Commissioner since 2008. In November 2017, Kevin became chair of the Primary Care Society of Gastroenterology. He was the RCGP and Crohn’s and Colitis UK Lead Clinical Champion for the 2017-2020 Inflammatory Bowel Disease Spotlight Project.
Dr Bev Oates
Dr Oates has been a Consultant Physician & Gastroenterologist at Wirral University Teaching Hospital since 2003 and has been Clinical Service Lead for Gastro and Endoscopy at WUTH.
Dr Oates was Training Programme Director for Gastro in Mersey for 11 years and National Recruitment Lead for Gastro for 10 years. She is Chair of the BSG Training Committee and is on the Gastro SAC, BSG Council & BSG Exec committees. In 2015 she was named as the HSJ Clinical Leader of the Year in recognition of her national, regional & local leadership achievements.
Dr Oates is passionate about high-quality patient care and became the National Clinical Lead for Gastro on the Getting it Right First Time (GIRFT) programme in 2017.
