BSG Trainees Taster Endoscopy Courses

The BSG Trainees Committee is excited to be able to host a series of endoscopy training courses this Spring at the following locations and dates:

Birmingham City University Seacole Building, City South Campus

19th May: 08:30 – 12:00
19th May: 13:00 – 16:30

Northern Surgical Training Centre, Freeman Hospital for Newcastle

30th May: 12:30 – 17:30

St. George’s Hospital, St James wing, 1st floor, Endoscopy Unit

18th May: 08.30 – 13:00
20th May: 13:30 – 18:00

Please note the morning Newcastle course on 31st May has been cancelled.

These courses will give you a comprehensive introduction to endoscopy and are suitable for medical and surgical trainees who are about to or interested in undertaking endoscopic training. The practical ‘hands-on’ experience will be facilitated using virtual reality simulators.

Introduction to endoscopy
How to scope
Observed OGDs
Simulations: Blind and unblind intubation (one participant looking at a screen guiding a blind endoscopist) and GI Bleed therapy
GI Bleeds – Endoscopic Therapy
Careers in Endoscopy

Please note that limited places are available and we will be prioritising delegates who attended the BSG Taster Course in 2021 and we cannot guarantee you a place a course.
