The BSG has exciting opportunities available for those who wish to increase their commitment to the work of the Society. We’re currently advertising for the below officer roles:

  • Education Chair
  • Honorary Treasurer
  • Secretary
  • VP Hepatology
  • Training Deputy Chair

Research Deputy Chair will be advertised in March 2021 with interviews in May. This position will be a one year role as deputy, moving into a two year post as Research Committee chair.

BSG Education Chair (2021 - 2023)

Applications are now open for the role of BSG Education Chair from June 2021 until June 2023 succeeding Dr Ayesha Akbar. The Education Chair is a member of the BSG Executive and Council.

This is a principal leadership role leading on educational matters on behalf of the BSG Executive and Chairing the Education Committee.  For informal discussions and questions about the role, please email [email protected]

BSG Honorary Treasurer (2021 - 2023)

Applications are now open for the role of BSG Honorary Treasurer from June 2021 until June 2023 initially, with the option to extend until June 2024 succeeding Professor Anton Emmanuel. The BSG Honorary Treasurer is a member of the BSG Executive and Council, and a member of the Board of Trustees.

BSG Secretary (2021 - 2023)

Applications are now open for the role of BSG Secretary from June 2021 until June 2023 succeeding Professor Adrian Stanley who will become Senior Secretary in June 2021. The Secretary will go on to become Senior Secretary from June 2023 – June 2025.

This is a principal leadership role leading on the BSG Annual Conference, and as a member of the executive team leading on membership services.  The Senior Secretary is a member of the Board of Trustees. BSG VP Hepatology (2021 - 2023)

Applications are now open for the role of BSG VP Hepatology from June 2021 until June 2023 succeeding Professor Phil Newsome. The VP Hepatology is a member of the BSG Executive and Council, and a member of the Board of Trustees in the second year of the post.

Applications are now open for the role of BSG Deputy Chair of the Training Committee from June 2021 until June 2023.  The Deputy Chair will go on to become the Chair of the Training Committee from June 2023 – June 2025.
