Section Committees

Our Section Committees focus on the academic, cultural and professional advancement of their special interest. Participating in a committee provides you with an opportunity to contribute your expertise and shape the future of UK gastroenterology and hepatology.

We are accepting nominations for positions within the Section Committees outlined below:

  • Adolescents and Young Persons – four vacancies

Where nominations have not exceeded the number of positions in any section, candidates will be elected unopposed without voting.

BSG members (excluding Taster members) are invited to elect their new representatives, and help shape the future of the Society. Please submit your nominations in the form below for consideration.

Election nominations will close at 18:00 on 4th of May 2021.

Please note: The form below is to nominate yourself for this position. You will need 2 active members of  The BSG to support your nomination for it to be considered.

Only full BSG members are eligible to stand as candidates for Section Committees.

Job description & Specification

Our section committees are elected by the membership of that section to represent them. They drive the work of the sections and put on educational events across the year. They also develop part of the programme at the Annual Conference each year, identifying topics of value and inviting speakers.

There are 15 Section Committees.

Nomination Process

Those standing for a committee position must be a member of the section. You can check and update your section membership on your profile.

Nominations for election to Sections automatically go forward to a ballot of full members (STV method). Nominations will close on 17:00 4th May 2021. The result will be communicated via the Society’s electronic newsletter and website.  Only full members of each Section will be eligible to vote in the final ballot.
