Clinical Academic Gastroenterology:
Training Opportunities
Dear Colleague
I enclose for your attention the latest information about the NIHR's academic training programmes which will commence in 2009. The information provided is specifically about Academic Clinical Fellows, i.e. those at the beginning of their clinical training and not about those who already have PhDs/MDs.
You will see from the information provided that there are again to be major opportunities for individuals at the beginning of their clinical training, i.e. ST1, ST2 or ST3, who wish to consider embarking upon a career in academic medicine.
The information provided indicates that this year the process can be quite flexible so that any individual who is seriously considering academia should take the information very seriously.
If you are a consultant with a young trainee please encourage them to look at the website in detail.
