The KBA in Gastroenterology has been developed and produced by the Federation of Royal Colleges of Physicians of the UK and the British Society of Gastroenterology and will be delivered for the first time in June 2008.

The WGO Education & Training Committee is proud to announce that the ‘Standards in gastroenterology training: a comprehensive guide to basic standards in gastroenterology’ has been finalised and approved.
This document is an important contribution to the mission of the WGO, which is ‘To promote, to the general public and health care professionals alike, an awareness of the world wide prevalence and optimal care of digestive disorders through the provision of high quality, accessible and independent education and training.’ The draft of this document was prepared by Elena Fosman and Roque Sáenz and revised by Cihan Yurdaydin and Tadahiko Kozu. I would like to thank them and all the national societies who contributed to the creation of this document.
