The BSG Trainees' Section committee is currently seeking nominations for trainees to represent the following regions:

Mersey (Mersey rotation)
North West (North West rotation)
East of England (East of England rotation)
North West Thames (NW Thames rotation)
East Midlands (North (Trent) and South (LNR) rotations)
Northern Ireland (Northern Ireland rotation)
East Scotland (East Scotland, South East Scotland and North Scotland rotations)
South West Thames (South West Thames rotation)
Northern (Northern rotation)
Oxford (Oxford rotation)
South West and Severn (Peninsula and Severn rotations)
Wessex (Wessex rotations)

Any interested trainees who would like to stand for election to the committee should please fill out a nomination form (below) and return to the BSG office by the deadline of the 9th February 2012.

The Committee consists of 18 members representing the following regions: East Anglia, Mersey, Northern, Northern Ireland, North West, Oxford, East Scotland, West Scotland, NE Thames, NW Thames, SE Thames, SW Thames, South West (Severn and Peninsula), Trent, Wales, Wessex, West Midlands and Yorkshire.

Committee members serve a maximum three-year term of office. The Chair and Secretary are elected from within the Committee and serve a one-year term. The Chair may not serve a second term but the Secretary may subsequently be elected Chair. The outgoing Chair sits on the Committee for an additional year in order to allow continuity and direction to the section but holds no external positions. Committee members are elected by national ballot coordinated by the BSG central office. We have 2-3 meetings per year and more frequent teleconferencing.

Please note that the above form applies to Trainee Section Committee only, and all nominated trainees must be working in the region they are nominated to and hold a national training number (NTN) in this region.
