Non-responsive and refractory Coeliac disease - common pitfalls in diagnosis and management
Coeliac disease (CD) is a common enteropathy mediated by an immune response to ingested gluten peptides and affects up to 1% of the UK population. Following diagnosis by duodenal biopsy and/or serology (see BSG 2026 guidelines), the only treatment currently available is a strict, lifelong gluten free diet (GFD).

The commitment will be sporadic but we do ask that you’re able to return the review in a timely fashion when requested. This is open to consultants, senior registrars (ST6 and above), specialist nurses or senior allied health professionals in Gastroenterology and/or Hepatology.
