Malawi Endoscopy Training Visit 2011

'Sustainable Partnerships in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Training and Practice - Outreach to Support Regional Central Hospitals in Malawi'

19-30 September 2011

The IHL partnership in endoscopy between Malawi and Liverpool, funded with previous IHLFS grants since 2009, made excellent progress against its stated aims to provide TTT to Blantyre endoscopy trainers, develop training materials and tools, and develop audit and governance tools. Initially, much of this training was delivered by inviting delegates to the UK (Liverpool Mersey School of Endoscopy). Blantyre is, however, now becoming a sustainable African centre of excellence in endoscopy practice and training. Our previous 2009 application stated "we intend that as sustainable practice is achieved in Blantyre, we will extend training to other regions/centres in Malawi, and hope to eventually provide TTT within Malawi"
