A 3 day course consisting of carefully structured sessions focusing on the main areas of investigation and treatment in hospital based hepatology and aimed at the needs of specialist registrars in training.
Topics to be covered include: antiviral treatment for hepatitis B/C; primary liver malignancy; liver transplantation & liver support; portal hypertension & varices; steatohepatitis & NASH; fluids in liver disease & hepatorenal syndrome; haemochromatosis; autoimmune disorders, primary sclerosing cholangitis, primary biliary cirrhosis and drug jaundice. The emphasis throughout the course will be on evidence based medicine and such guidelines as have been produced in hepatology will also be considered within individual sessions.
