- 14th Bill Owen Oesophago-Gastric Symposium
- Royal College of Surgeons of England - London
- Oesophageal Section Meetings
With improved technology and increased experience in minimal access surgery, more and more oesophageal conditions are being treated by minimal invasive techniques. In some specialized units most benign oesophageal conditions and some malignant disease of the oesophagus are being treated by minimal access thereby reducing the need for open surgery. Oesophageal surgery however remains high risk and associated with significant morbidity and mortality. It is best done in specialist units with sufficient back-up.
During this 14th Bill Owen Oesophago-Gastric Symposium an international expert faculty will guide participants through their experience in minimal invasive oesophageal surgery. Expert surgeons will discuss the optimal techniques of performing minimal invasive anti-reflux surgery, achalasia treatment, hiatus hernia repair, oesophagectomy and dealing with oesophageal perforations. There will also be discussions on new technical developments such as Endoflip, Endostim, Linx and POEM. Everybody contemplating minimal invasive oesophageal surgery should attend this meeting!
