The programmes have been developed by NHS West and South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw CSU in collaboration with the University of Bradford which makes the award. They are aimed at clinical nurse specialists and nurse endoscopists and are delivered by clinicians who are experts in their fields. There is an increasing demand in both primary and secondary care for specialist nurses and nurse practitioners who support clinical gastroenterology services, eg cancer nurse specialists, dyspepsia nurses, inflammatory bowel disease nurses, hepatitis nurses and nurse endoscopists, this programme provides comprehensive training in both clinical gastroenterology and clinical skills.
Our aim is to provide high quality applied, work-based training leading to a nationally recognised qualification to equip practitioners to work at a higher level in Gastroenterology.
