The course will cost £150 to attend. There is a good mix of hands-on experience of the latest diagnostic technologies alongside interactive workshops, lectures on career pathways and how to secure higher medical training in GI medicine.

Free places for medical students...

The BSG Trainees Section is inviting UK final year medical students to apply for one of 5 fully funded places on the fifth 'Taster Course in Gastroenterology' Applicants need to be UK-based medical students starting their final year of study this year.

Applicants should send a 2-page CV and 250 word (maximum) supporting statement (explaining why they want to do gastroenterology, their inspiration, experience and steps they have taken to gain insight into the specialty) to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. All applications must be supported by a covering letter, which is officially stamped or verified by the medical school faculty office.

An independent panel of gastroenterologists will choose the best applications. Successful applicants will be informed by the 20th October 2017. They will enjoy free registration to attend the course, have fully funded return transport to the course, and have overnight accommodation arranged for the 2nd December 2017.
