Our members include physicians, surgeons, pathologists, radiologists, scientists, nurses. dietitians, and others.

Frontline Gastroenterology

Frontline Gastroenterology (FG) aims to accelerate the adoption of best practice in the fields of gastroenterology and hepatology. It is multidisciplinary and focuses on the needs of patients and the professionals caring for them. The principal criterion for publication is potential impact on patient care. FG is an official journal of the British Society of Gastroenterology.

Alimentary Pharmacology & Therapeutics.
Alimentary Pharmacology & Therapeutics is an international journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. AP&T is particularly interested in therapies and diagnostics: clinical trials, identification of novel therapeutic targets, epidemiology, and drug safety.
AP&T publishes systematic reviews, meta-analyses, randomized clinical trials, and original scientific articles every fortnight.

Alcohol-Related Disease

Alcohol-Related Disease: meeting the challenge of improved quality of care and better use of resources sets out a practical plan for implementing a national strategy to improve services for patients that repeatedly attend hospital because of their dependence on alcohol and associated health problems. Its recommendations aim to improve the effectiveness of hospital services for patients who are alcohol dependent and who present at hospital in several ways, often through A&E. The paper calls for a dedicated Alcohol Team and a lead clinician at consultant level. It suggests ways of coordinating alcohol policies across hospitals and local areas.

Together with a range of professional and patient group partners - BAPEN, BASL, the IBS Network, Crohn's & Colitis UK, Coeliac UK and British Liver Trust - the BSG has published commissioning guidance. We hope this will guide commissioners in developing services and assist our members in engaging with commissioners. -
